Job Overview :

Contis has spent over ten years developing a proprietary banking and payments engine for clients to ‘white-label’.  Clients range from established global players to new start-ups who avail themselves of Contis’ one-stop-shop banking, card issuing and card processing platform that operates across the UK (Direct Debits, Faster Payments etc.), SEPA (Credit Transfers, Direct Debits) and Visa / Mastercard (prepaid and debit).  Separately, Contis powers the UK Credit Union movement with a full consumer banking and debit card offering.  Contis’ platform is proprietary, supported by its own team of developers and testers and delivers industry-leading levels of uptime.

Reporting to the Head of Product, this new role will be responsible for realising all elements of Contis’ Card product roadmap.  To do this, the incumbent will need to build uncompromising customer-centricity into the desired solution and have the tenacity to ensure this solution is delivered.  To be successful, the candidate will need significant subject matter expertise and fluency with the agile methodology.

Responsibilities & Duties : 

  • Realising all elements of Contis’ banking roadmap.
  • Subject-matter-expert of Contis’ and external banking infrastructure.
  • Drafting problem statements, developing EPICs, user-journeys etc.
  • Guardian of the customer experience.
  • Working as the Product Expert with the Scrum Master to organise optimal programs of work.
  • Work as part of the Scrum Team ensuring delivery of product per requirements and specification. Ownership of elements of partner / supplier relationships

Skills & Knowledge Required : 

  • Seasoned Product Owner with detailed knowledge of the payment Card infrastructure (e.g., Visa / Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay) across the UK and Europe.
  • Proven track record delivering significant industry projects (eg. PSD2 or other Payment Service Regulation change).
  • Solid approach to defining and documenting problem statements, drafting EPICs etc as part of an Agile environment.
  • Ability to build consensus, command respect at all levels of an organisation
  • Pragmatic and structured approach, especially when under pressure 
  • ‘Completer-finisher’ with great attention to detail.
  • Solutions focused.
